Itinerary of the 5-Day Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour Package
Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
The journey begins at the Marangu Gate, where you will start your trek through the lush rainforest to Mandara Hut. The trail is rich in biodiversity, and you may spot colobus monkeys and other wildlife. The trek covers a distance of about 8 km and takes approximately 4-5 hours.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
On the second day, you will ascend from the rainforest into the heather and moorland zones, experiencing a change in vegetation and temperature. The trail offers stunning views of Mawenzi Peak. The trek covers a distance of about 12 km and takes approximately 5-7 hours.
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
On the third day, you will ascend to Kibo Hut, the base camp for the summit. The trail traverses an alpine desert with sparse vegetation. The trek covers a distance of about 10 km and takes approximately 6–8 hours.
Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
